AWARDS GALORE FOR FALMOUTH MISSION GARDEN

The Garden at Falmouth’s Mission to Seafarers Centre, lovingly created by Graham Hall, has won several awards at the Cornwall in Bloom Ceremony which took place at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Thursday 18th October 2012.

The Mission Garden won a Full Bloom Award, was Group Award Winner in the First Impressions category and Graham Hall won a Local Hero Award and was runner-up in the overall Local Hero Award category.  In all the Falmouth Mission Garden came away with three certificates, a trophy, a shield and a cheque for £250.00.

Graham, who spends many hours tending the Mission Garden, situated within A&P’s Falmouth Docks, was “delighted” and “overwhelmed”.  He said “It is wonderful that the garden we have created for seafarers has been recognised in this way.  As a seafarer myself for 37 years, I know how the sights and sounds of a garden can lift the spirits – especially if all you have seen for months is the sea.
We are extremely grateful to A&P Falmouth, owners of Falmouth Docks, and the workforce for all the encouragement and support we receive”
